AND THE BAFTA GOES TO …………

We are celebrating at our offices in Manchester and Glasgow this week after several of our clients projects were recognised at the RTS North West and BAFTA Scotland award ceremonies over the weekend.

There is no greater accolade in this industry than receiving recognition from the Royal Television Society and The British Academy of Film, Television and Arts. To be involved in commissions that receive the coveted golden award is fantastic and testament to the talent of our great clients and the team here at 422.tv.

422.tv were delighted to hear that the documentary they worked on with Tigerlily Films and Dusty Slider (for BBC4) won Best Single Documentary at Saturday evening’s RTS North West Awards.

422.tv in Manchester provided all post production services for "Tubular Bells - The Mike Oldfield Story", which tells of the making of one of the seminal albums from the early 70’s, interviewing Mike Oldfield in his home studio, along with a host of associated contributors, including Richard Branson.

The documentary was directed by Matt O’ Casey and Produced by Natasha Dack of Tigerlily Films. It first aired in December 2013 on BBC4

A huge congratulations also to our team at 422.tv in Glasgow, who should be feeling most proud today, having worked with three of the winners recognised by BAFTA Scotland on Sunday evening.

Following on from his own RTS Scotland craft award earlier this year, John Cobban, ably assisted by William Cory, worked on the winning entry in the animation category - ‘Monkey Love Experiments'. Will Anderson and Ainslie Henderson’s film is about a monkey who believes he is destined for the moon.

We’re also very proud to have worked on two of the three nominated programmes in the Current Affairs category, both produced by Finestripe for BBC One Scotland. The first being ‘Blethering Referendum’, comedian Sanjeev Kohli’s humorous look at the referendum on independence. The programme had the complete 422 Scotland post-production package with offline by Joe Speirs and additional support from the grade and graphics team with sound design by John Cobban.

But the winner on the night was ‘Dave: Loan Ranger’, where Dave Fishwick (of Bank of Dave fame) takes on the payday loan companies. The team provided sound, offline, grade and graphics for this winning entry.

Last but certainly not least, we were delighted to assist Darren Hercher with his intimately observed documentary ‘Keys to the Castle’. With its portrayal of a couple in their twilight years, living in their beloved Scottish castle since rebuilding it from ruins 40 years ago, the documentary was beautifully graded in house by our very own Ian Ballantyne.

We’d like to send huge congratulations to both our talented clients and in-house teams, in both Glasgow and Manchester, for all their hard work and dedication.

Their involvement in the work recognised at the RTS North and BAFTA Scotland Awards is truly deserved!
